This Privacy Policy explains how KBD Scooter collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the KBD Scooter mobile application, website, support services, and rental services.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

• Account information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and authentication details.
• Profile and verification information, such as identity documents, address, hotel name, and room number when required for rental or safety purposes.
• Payment and billing information processed through Stripe, including payment status, transaction identifiers, debt, totals, and invoice information. We do not store full card numbers.
• Location and ride information, including scooter location, route data, start and end locations, parking zone status, restricted zone events, and ride history.
• Device and notification information, including push notification tokens, device type, operating system, and notification topic subscriptions.
• Support and safety information, such as SOS requests, damage photos, comments, issue tags, maintenance reports, and customer support communications.
• Technical information, such as logs, app diagnostics, crash information, API requests, and security events.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage user accounts.
• Provide scooter rental, ride tracking, parking, pause, resume, and ride completion features.
• Process payments, deposits, overtime charges, debts, refunds, and invoices.
• Send operational notifications, including zone alerts, ride time warnings, overtime alerts, blocked ride alerts, speed alerts, and maintenance alerts.
• Support customer service, safety workflows, damage reporting, and dispute handling.
• Improve app reliability, prevent fraud, enforce rental rules, and protect users, scooters, and our service.
• Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

Location Data

Location data is essential to the rental service. We use location information to show nearby scooters, track active rides, detect parking and restricted zones, calculate ride details, and support safety and billing workflows. During an active ride, scooter location may be used instead of phone location when available.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe and related payment processors. KBD Scooter receives payment status, payment links, invoice identifiers, and transaction metadata needed to operate the rental service. Your payment information is also subject to Stripe's privacy policy.

Sharing Information

We may share information with:

• Payment processors, including Stripe.
• Hosting, analytics, messaging, notification, map, and infrastructure providers.
• Support, maintenance, fleet management, and operations staff.
• Authorities, insurers, or legal advisers when required by law, safety needs, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the service. Some ride, payment, safety, and audit records may be kept after account closure where legally or operationally required.

Your Choices

You may update your account information in the app where available. You can control push notifications through your device settings. Some permissions, such as location and notifications, may be required for core rental and safety features.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards to protect information. No system is completely secure, and users should keep their account credentials confidential.

Children

The service is not intended for children. Users must meet the minimum age and legal eligibility requirements that apply to scooter rental in their location.

Rental Agreement and Safety Terms

THE OWNER shall rent to the renter an electric scooter in perfect working order and in good technical condition.

• I have inspected the electric scooter prior to signing this agreement and have checked that it is in satisfactory and safe condition, and fit for purpose.
• I will not undertake any maneuver which is beyond my level of skill or unsuitable for the electric scooter's capability.
• I fully indemnify THE OWNER hire against injury to myself or any third party.
• I declare that I am in good health and that my eyesight is up to the standard required for a road driving test. I am not suffering from any medical condition or disability which is likely to adversely affect my normal control of the electric scooter.
• I recognize that use of an electric scooter can be dangerous and acknowledge the risks involved.
• I agree with the terms and conditions applied by THE OWNER to its electric scooter hire activities.
• I am a competent rider of this type of electric scooter.
• I totally absolve THE OWNER from any liability arising howsoever whilst I am responsible for their electric scooter.
• I indemnify them from any loss or damage caused.
• I understand that riding an electric scooter is dangerous and I freely accept liability and all costs arising from injury to myself and/or third parties.
• I understand that I should have personal insurance cover.
• I will test the electric scooter in the presence of THE OWNER and will ride only when I am happy that it is in good condition.
• I understand that components such as brakes, tires, and control cables will deteriorate whilst I am riding and accept this inherent danger.
• In case of delay in returning the electric scooter, the RENTER shall pay a penalty to THE OWNER for the amount decided by THE OWNER depending on the length of the delay.
• The electric scooter must always be locked when it is parked.
• Lost or broken keys are the RENTER'S responsibility.
• RENTER must wear a helmet.
• Not allowed to carry a passenger.
• The RENTER is obliged to yield precedence to all pedestrians while riding the hired electric scooter.
• On hiring the electric scooter the RENTER declares the following: that he/she has turned 17 years old, that he/she has not consumed any alcoholic drinks or any other opium substances during the last 24 hours, that his/her health and physical condition are within the norm, that he/she has received instructions for driving the electric scooter, that he/she shall ride the electric scooter in person, and that responsibility for the consequences from this shall be borne by him/her.
• In case of loss, destruction, or insurance policy theft, the RENTER shall pay a penalty amounting to €450.
• In case of damages caused to the hired electric scooter at a smaller cost, when the case is not reported to the police, the RENTER shall pay the cost of damages on returning the hired electric scooter amounting from €50 up to €450.
• The RENTER shall be fully responsible while driving the electric scooter.
• Drive along the harbor at a speed of 5 kilometers per hour.
• It is required by law to wear a helmet.
• I have read and accept the full terms and conditions of THE OWNER HIRE.
• By law in Cyprus money is not returned for services.
